SANTA CLARA, CA (February 19, 2007) \u2013 A local television news station gave a digital camera to 12-year-old Daniel Chae and sent him on an assignment to capture photographs that reflect the way in which he perceives his faith.

\nChae is the son of Helen and David Chae, pastor of Great Exchange Covenant Church. The photographs he took and the maturity he displayed surprised the reporter, according to the story. During the segment, the reporter says she expected most of his pictures would be of religious symbols because he is evangelical and the son of a pastor. Instead, photographs of friends, family, baseball trophies, and movie posters dominate the collection.<\/p>\n

Daniel shares how he finds images of God\u2019s story in movies, including \u201cSuperman Returns.\u201d He notes that the superhero was sent to earth by his father and was willing to die to save humanity.<\/p>\n

He also makes clear the importance of his religious faith in other ways. Chae says his favorite passage is Isaiah 40: I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced. Those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish. Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all. For I am and Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says, do not fear, I will help you.<\/em><\/p>\n

The website news story states, \u201cIn Daniel Chae, we found a boy who is down to earth because he is grounded in his faith.\u201d That faith is considered important to forming character.<\/p>\n
