Fired destroyed the Evangelical Covenant Church of Bariloche, Argentina, in August. In addition to the building, the congregation lost furniture, sound equipment, and all of its musical instruments.<\/p>\nCHICAGO, IL (September 29, 2008) \u2013 Approximately $2,000 was raised last Saturday to assist a congregation in Argentina rebuild its church, thanks to efforts by the Women\u2019s Hispanic District of the Central Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC).

Nearly 150 women attended a Saturday morning mission breakfast at Iglesia del Pacto Evang\u00e9lico Bel\u00e9n in Chicago. Proceeds from sale of the $10 tickets will be sent to the
\nArgentinean church, says Flor Retamal, district coordinator and a member of Iglesia del Pacto Evang\u00e9lico Grace in Chicago.<\/p>\n
In addition, members of Iglesia del Pacto Evang\u00e9lico Douglas Park brought $140 that the congregation\u2019s children had raised. The money will be used for the children of the Argentinean congregation, Retamal said.<\/p>\n
Retamal said the Argentinean congregation plans to rebuild in the same location.<\/p>\n
The morning’s program included special music from several of the churches, a presentation about the ECC Department of World Mission and a sermon from Annie Espinoza, who attends the Douglas Park congregation.<\/p>\n
Others interested in contributing to assist the church rebuilding effort should designate donations to \u201cBariloche fire relief\u201d and send them to the Evangelical Covenant Church, 5101 N. Francisco Avenue, Chicago, IL, 60625. All donations will be acknowledged for income tax purposes.<\/p>\n
