WILLMAR, MN (August 26, 2008) \u2013 The losers in the Chocolate Syrup Tug-O-War may have thought they landed in heaven.

\n\"\"Several dozen kids rolled around and splashed in chocolate syrup during the community outreach event held by First Covenant Church,<\/a> says children\u2019s pastor Cheryl Perry (pictured right in chocolate bath).<\/p>\n

Volunteers hosed down the joyful students afterward, but a total cleaning was impossible. One mom asked, \u201cHow am I going to get them home?\u201d recalls Perry.<\/p>\n

During the evening, the kids also made a craft, ate s\u2019mores and studied Joshua 1:9: \u201cBe strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cChildren learned that just as you cannot do a tug-o-war by yourself, you should not try to do life by yourself, either,\u201d Perry says. \u201cWe need Jesus on our team as well as other Christians to help us when times get tough.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of course, it\u2019s easier to get others to help when chocolate is involved.<\/p>\n
