Shortly after planting the church in 2001, pastors Randy Furushima and Dale Vallejo-Sanderson realized that other churches ministered to prisoners, but no one was reaching out to the families.<\/p>\n

The church also has established the Wellspring Arts Institute and Hawaii Theological Seminary.<\/p>\n

Event to Raise Funds for Special Hearing Device<\/strong><\/p>\n

GREEN OAKS, IL \u2013 Libertyville Covenant Church is sponsoring a 5k walk\/run<\/a> to help the family of six-year-old Audrey Hawkins raise money for a FM listening device that helps the significantly deaf girl hear parents, teachers, and church leaders when they use a microphone. The device eliminates background noise.<\/p>\n

The event is slated for August 17 following the 9:30 a.m. worship service. She is the daughter of John and Bev Hawkins. In addition to raising money for the device, which is not covered by insurance, the family hopes the event will raise awareness about hearing issues.<\/p>\n

Walnut Creek (CA) Features Special Speakers in August<\/strong><\/p>\n
