GREEN LAKE, IL (June 25, 2008) \u2013 Glenn R. Palmberg has been named President Emeritus of the Evangelical Covenant Church in an action taken by the Executive Board during its meeting Monday.

\nIn this role, Palmberg will serve in four key areas:
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Fund-raising for general operations, North Park Theological Seminary scholarships, the Paul Carlson Partnership, donor interest areas, the Sustaining Pastoral Excellence initiative, and donor relations with the newly elected president
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Representing the denomination this coming year on the Alliance to End Hunger, which is part of Bread for the World
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Speaking assignments, representing the denomination
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Other special assignments as requested by the newly elected president<\/p>\n
These areas will be reviewed after one year and a determination made at that time concerning further service. Expenses will be covered, but no additional financial reimbursement will be provided.<\/p>\n
