Lindstrom died Sunday. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nLindstrom was born December 4, 1923, in East Orange, New Jersey. He married his wife, Carol, in 1949.<\/p>\n<p>Lindstrom earned his bachelor\u2019s degree in mechanical engineering from General Motors Institute in Flint, Michigan, and helped design the layout of the company\u2019s Kansas City, Kansas, Fairfax plant. He was granted eight patents for his engineering designs. He subsequently earned his master\u2019s degree from North Park Theological Seminary.<\/p>\n<p>He served several Covenant churches in Kansas: Alert\/Leonardville, Clay Center, Manhattan, Wichita,\u00a0 Axtell, and Marquette. In addition, he served in Wausa, Nebraska. Lindstrom frequently served as a bi-vocational pastor.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Carol, Ed is survived by two daughters, Sharon Ensz and Ruth-Ann Abdel-Sayed; and five sons, Mark Lindstrom, Paul Lindstrom, Peter Lindstrom, David Lindstrom, and John Lindstrom; and 12 grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>Memorials may be sent to Community Covenant Church, 15700 W 87th Street Parkway, Lenexa, Kansas 66219, with designation to either the Covenant World Mission Program or KICY Radio Station.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-report-this\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/newswire?moderation_action=report_form&#038;object_type=post&#038;object_id=1687&#038;width=250&#038;height=300\" class=\"thickbox\" title=\"Report This Post\">Report This Post<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LENEXA, KS (April 2, 2008) \u2013 A memorial service for retired Evangelical Covenant Church pastor Edgar Karl Lindstrom, 84, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Community Covenant Church.
