CALUMET PARK, IL (March 31, 2008) \u2013 A funeral service for Evangelical Covenant Church pastor Larry Griffin, 55, will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday at Community Covenant Church. Griffin died Thursday.<\/p>\n
Any ministers attending the funeral are invited to join the processional at the beginning of the service wearing their robes.<\/p>\n
Griffin was born November 17, 1952, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended North Park Theological Seminary from 1993 to 1997 and was ordained in 1998.<\/p>\n
Griffin most recently was pastor of Our Savior\u2019s Covenant Church in Chicago. He has been active in various denominational and local ministries including, the Board of Ordered Ministry; the Central Conference Commission on Compassion, Mercy, and Justice; and the board of the North Park Friendship Center food pantry, which is supported by several area Covenant churches.<\/p>\n
