CHICAGO, IL (January 7, 2008) – Hardly a week goes by that we do not receive a few comments from readers on stories published as part of the Covenant online news report.

\nWe will share from time to time some of those responses generated through the \u201ccomments\u201d link attached to each published story. This kind of feedback is very helpful to our Covenant News Service staff as we seek to identify and publish stories of great interest to a broad spectrum of online readers of this report.<\/p>\n

Funeral Service Wednesday for Don Peres<\/a><\/p>\n Rod and Pam Darsie<\/em> of Cambridge, MN, write: We are sad to hear of Don Peres\u2019 death. He will always be remembered by us as a great preacher of God’s word. It was our hope to some day be one of his parishioners.<\/p>\n Robert & Yvonne Huse<\/em> of Strathmore, AB, write: Don was such a blessing to so many people. Please give our condolences to Pat.<\/p>\n Brenda Burruss Kennedy<\/em> of Duluth, MN, writes: Pastor Don was no ordinary pastor. I had no idea what an impact he would make on my life when I first met him. He and Patty were so devoted to each other and the Lord. He always had time for me when I would call with questions or to ask for prayer. He will truly be missed here on this earth. I will be seeing him, of that I am sure, and I know that he will be singing and praising. And for those who knew pastor Don, they know that too.<\/p>\n Unique Bicycle Ministry Tackling Poverty in Zambia<\/a><\/p>\n Mark Washington<\/em> of Chicago, IL, writes: Thanks for this story. This is one of many ways God is using business to advance his Kingdom around the world, especially in places that won’t accept traditional missionaries. Intervarsity hosted a major Business as Mission Conference <\/a>last year with free audios available. I know the Evangelical Covenant Church has been doing \u201cbusiness as mission\u201d for years – in Thailand, at Jesus People USA (JPUSA) and others. It’s exciting to see.<\/p>\n Greg West<\/em> of San Diego, CA, writes: Vaughn and Dustin are an inspiration to all of us as they use their gifts, skills and education to restore and build God’s kingdom on earth. Many people have written off this generation as being self-absorbed and lazy. These two are certainly an exception to that assessment. May God raise up many more disciples like these young men whose passion it is to make a difference in the world!<\/p>\n One Family, 113 Years of Consecutive Pulpit Ministry<\/a><\/p>\n Bonnie Hansen<\/em> of Auburn, CA, writes: What a wonderful article about my cousin Kent. As Herbert Palmquist’s daughter, I can affirm so many things he said. It was a rich heritage to be born into the Palmquist family and more so into the family of God. Blessings on you, Kent.<\/p>\n Betty Thompson<\/em> of Everett, WA, writes: Kent Palmquist spent some of his growing up years at First Covenant in Spokane. His father was pastor during my confirmation years. What I remember about Kent and his sister was that they were \u201cmodel\u201d preacher\u2019s kids! So happy to read his story.<\/p>\n Unusual Mosaic Art Designed to Enhance Worship<\/a><\/p>\n Terry Peterson<\/em> of Grand Rapids, MI, writes: What amazing mosaics and what a fantastic “new” way to worship. Most often, readers come across them while topically perusing search engines or when visiting the online Covenant News Archive maintained by Covenant News Service.
