CASTLE ROCK, CO (December 3, 2009) \u2013 Members of Castle Oaks Covenant Church<\/a> took advantage of their new location at a popular outlet mall on Black Friday and served coffee to early Christmas shoppers from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.

\nThe church had not even held its first worship service at the Outlets of Castle Rock Mall. That service was conducted on Sunday.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a great move for this church,\u201d says Rick Mylander, associate superintendent for the Midwest Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC).<\/p>\n

The church also welcomed its new pastor, Paul Lessard, who is already familiar with the area. He served as the founding administrator of Covenant Bible College \u2013 Midwest in Windsor, Colorado.<\/p>\n

Registration Begins for Leadership Matrix<\/strong><\/p>\n

OLYMPIA, WA – Registrations are being taken for the North Pacific Conference\u2019s Leadership Matrix training event to be held March 6, 2010, at River Ridge Covenant Church<\/a> in Olympia.<\/p>\n

The daylong teaching, training, and networking event is open to pastors and volunteer leaders. Keynote speakers include Sherwood Carthen, pastor of Bayside Covenant of South Sacramento<\/a> and NBA team chaplain for the Sacramento Kings, and Peter Sung, national director of church planting for the ECC.<\/p>\n

Midwest Conference Launches Video Magazine<\/strong><\/p>\n

OMAHA, NE \u2013 The Midwest Conference has mailed the first edition of its video magazine to churches. MidWEst Video-Connect includes two stories about churches in the conference.<\/p>\n

The conference hopes to produce up to four DVDs each year. Superintendent Ken Carlson says the videos can be used in various settings such as board meetings, membership classes to introduce shared conference ministries, and mission moments during worship times.<\/p>\n
