SEATTLE, WA (November 4, 2009) \u2013 Several Evangelical Covenant churches in Washington, Minnesota and Michigan – and perhaps others around the country – are hosting screenings of the anti-trafficking film At the End of Slavery: The Battle for Justice in Our Time<\/em> this month.
\n
\nThe Seattle area showings are sponsored by the Eastside Women of Purpose, a grass-roots organization that advocates for women and children who are at risk of, or are already enslaved in, sexual exploitation or human trafficking.<\/p>\n

International Justice Mission produced the newly released film. Actor Danny Glover narrates the 31-minute documentary. Discussions about how to get involved in fighting modern-day slavery are held after the film is shown. Click here<\/a> to view a trailer of the film.<\/p>\n

The film also will be shown Saturday as part of a weekend youth retreat involving two Michigan churches – Thornapple Covenant Church<\/a> of Grand Rapids, and Forest Park Covenant Church<\/a> of Muskegon. Sean Litton, vice president of field operations for IJM will speak during the retreat at Portage Lake Covenant Bible Camp<\/a>. He also will speak during both services at the Thornapple church as part of the congregation\u2019s Compassion & Justice Weekend.<\/p>\n

Thornapple Youth Pastor Steve Raisch said high school students from his church are especially looking forward to hearing Litton because he grew up attending the same high school as they attended.<\/p>\n
