CHICAGO, IL (November 30, 2007) – Hardly a week goes by that we do not receive a few comments from readers on stories published as part of the Covenant online news report.<\/p>\n
We will share from time to time some of those responses generated through the \u201ccomments\u201d link attached to each published story. This kind of feedback is very helpful to our Covenant News Service staff as we seek to identify and publish stories of great interest to a broad spectrum of online readers of this report.<\/p>\n

Tuesday Service Celebrates Life of Dr. Jerry Mosby Mildred Morton<\/em> of Bronx, NY, writes: Praise the Lord. I am a member of Fellowship Covenant and Reverend Jerry Mosby was my pastor. I would like to tell you what a wonderful pastor he was. Always concerned about his members, especially his seniors. He always made sure that his seniors were taken care of. When he did not see you for a while, he would call, just to see how you were doing and if you needed anything. My prayers go out to First Lady Sandra Mosby and her family.<\/p>\n Mamielisa Farrar <\/em>of Bronx, NY, writes: There is hardly enough space to summarize who Dr. Jerry Mosby was – a man of integrity, discipline, education, hard work, determination, style, charisma, and faithfulness. He had an unfaltering love for his family and congregation. He led by example. He adored his young people and taught us to strive for absolute excellence. He has been and will continue to be a major part of my life. He was there to watch me blossom from a young girl to the woman I am today. His role as pastor was not limited to Sunday mornings. He worked for God 24 hours a day and for his congregation. I feel not only blessed, but divinely favored by God for bringing pastor our way. Pastor, I will uphold your vision, be an example of excellence, take care of your young people, comfort your family, and continue towards the kingdom as you taught me. You were loved by many, respected by all, and will truly be missed. Job well done, sir!<\/p>\n Mary Evans-Brunson<\/em> of Bronx, NY, writes: A great tribute to one so deserving.Pastor mosby was a real spiritual leader, a man for all seasons,gentle giant, one of a kind,multi-talented,compassionate,great sense of humor. You will be missed. I never knew of your other accomplishments – wow! You and your family will be in my prayers as you make this transition during the holiday season. Blessings!<\/p>\n Marilyn Moore<\/em> of Somerville, MA, writes: Congratulations, Bob. I remember your interview at New England Seafarers Mission in Boston a few years ago and subsequent article in the Covenant Companion. Your efforts helped to expand our ministry along the East Coast for seafarers. Best wishes on your new position. God\u2019s blessings from your friends at Trinity Covenant in Lexington.<\/p>\n Giving Thanks for What Exactly? Diane Jones<\/em> of Bronx, NY, writes: Pastor Mosby was a man of God and a good friend to have. My prayers go out to First Lady, Chrissy, and Jamal\u00a0 – continue to have and follow that vision that he so greatly wanted for all of us. Fellowship Covenant Church will truly be missing a great man of God. If you understood Pastor Mosby, then you understood that when he disciplined you there was always a message in his teaching, because it was always done with love. Love you Pastor Mosby.<\/p>\n Jane Gillis<\/em> of Rochester, MN, writes: When today really is the last day of the rest of my life, it gives an urgency to how we live it. It really changes the focus from more to enough. One pair of shoes for Sunday is all that we can wear, so maybe one is enough. It also reminds me of Jesus and his life of poverty – yet he always had enough. Today is a gift from God, so let us rejoice and be glad in it. Today is enough for today – live for today and leave the future for a future day. Blessings on your day!<\/p>\n Two Services to Honor Memory of Dr. Jerry Mosby Lillian Brown<\/em> of Bronx, NY, writes: The story of Jerry Mosby is very good \u2013 I love it. I am a member of Fellowship since 1988. I hope he rests in peace. Love to the family.
\nDolly Morton-Lattimore<\/em> of Bronx, NY, writes: All praises to God. My husband and I are members of Fellowship Covenant Church, and Dr. Jerry Mosby was our pastor. Pastor Mosby was a caring, loving and devoted pastor. He was always there for us in good times and bad times. We loved him very much and he will be missed by all. We will continue to keep First Lady Sandra Mosby and family and the church in our prayers.<\/p>\n
\nNancy Reed<\/em> of Spain writes: Wow! What a wonderful and enriching experience. I would have loved to be present.<\/p>\n
\nMartha Melander<\/em> of South Bend, IN, writes: This was a bitter\/sweet story. However, I\u2019m thrilled for Bob and Kathy. May the Lord bless and enrich their \u2013 and their family\u2019s \u2013 lives to the fullest. We will miss Bob\u2019s contributions to the Covenant Companion, but wish all the best in his new career.<\/p>\n
\nDebbie Blue<\/em> of Chicago, IL, writes: Thank you for such a beautiful tribute to a great pastor, leader and pioneer in the Evangelical Covenant Church. His words of praise and thanksgiving in the midst of his own personal situation were profound and encouraging. May his family and “The Ship” be comforted by the prayers of sisters and brothers, near and far.<\/p>\n
\nMary Ukazu<\/em> of Bronx, NY, writes: I admire Pastor Mosby for holding on to his faith \u2018til the end. That’s what it is all about. I pray that God will give us all the grace to remain as steadfast as this man of God in the face of serious challenges that life presents.<\/p>\n

\nYolanda and Gladys Davis<\/em> of Jacksonville, FL, write: When we resided in New York City, we were faithful members of Fellowship Covenant Church. Pastor Mosby is truly an inspiration. I say is in the present tense, for his legacy still lives on. He had a gift for showing everyday folk how to evolve spiritually. Many can preach, yet few can pastor. Pastor Mosby was a pastor’s pastor and was great at teaching folk that the true church of God is in the heart. He will be missed. I remember one of his favorite scriptures: “Sorrow may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” We can just see how Pastor Mosby is experiencing eternal mornings of joy in God’s bosom.<\/p>\n
