BRONX, NY (November 29, 2007) \u2013 Following is the text of the letter sent by Evangelical Covenant Church President Glenn Palmberg, which was read during Tuesday\u2019s service honoring the life and ministry of Dr. Jerry Mosby.<\/p>\n

Dear Sandra and Family,<\/p>\n
Please accept my deepest personal sympathy at Pastor Mosby\u2019s passing.\u00a0 I grieve with you: I will miss him greatly.\u00a0 Jerry was a gifted, faithful pastor, a man of vision and strength.\u00a0 He was a superb preacher and a skilled leader.\u00a0 He led Fellowship from the last handful of Immanuel Covenant Church members to a large, strong, vibrant congregation.\u00a0 The church\u2019s outreach – and his own – extended the love of Christ to your neighbors and your community in countless ways.\u00a0 In all that, Sandra, you have shared as his partner at home and in ministry.<\/p>\n
During the past year he and you faced serious threats to his physical health.\u00a0 His grace-filled courage through that very difficult time was a testimony to the power and faithfulness of our Lord.\u00a0 Now he is whole and strong, and he lives in the presence of almighty God.\u00a0 \u201cAnd God himself will be with them; he will wipe every tear from their eyes.\u00a0 Death will be no more; mourning and crying and pain will be no more, for the first things have passed away\u201d (Revelation 21:3b-4).<\/p>\n
My prayers will remain with you all as you grieve your very personal loss and begin to find healing.\u00a0 May our God be especially close to you now in these days, supplying you with all that you need in each day.\u00a0 May he guide and strengthen you, and grant you comfort in his own unfailing love and power.<\/p>\n
