CHICAGO, IL (November 23, 2007) – Hardly a week goes by that we do not receive a few comments from readers on stories published as part of the Covenant online news report.<\/p>\n
We will share from time to time some of those responses generated through the \u201ccomments\u201d link attached to each published story. This kind of feedback is very helpful to our Covenant News Service staff as we seek to identify and publish stories of great interest to a broad spectrum of online readers of this report.<\/p>\n

Three Covenanters Involved in Tabasco Flood Relief Efforts Covenanter Helps Other Faiths Develop Chaplain Programs Two Services to Honor Memory of Dr. Jerry Mosby Mrs. Juliet Ohore<\/em> of New York, NY, writes: I totally agree to all the facts that were said about our beloved pastor Mosby. He was a father to all the children in the church. He will go to any length to help any of his members. He was a kind pastor, and loving.<\/p>\n Richard Henrie<\/em> of New York, NY, writes: This is a beautiful tribute to a great man and a great pastor of a great church. He was a son of the Convent Avenue Baptist Church where I am a member – my sister, Lillian Brown, is a member of the Fellowship Covenant Church. God bless you in your time of loss and sorrow. My prayers go up for the family and the church, because I know he will be missed in both places.<\/p>\n Dona Whitfield-Owens<\/em> of Englewood, NJ, writes: Having known Rev. Mosby from my baby Christian days at the Convent Avenue Baptist Church, my heart is overjoyed by his accomplishments in the ministry. My condolences to his wife, Sandra, the family and the Fellowship Covenant Church. May God comfort you in the days ahead!<\/p>\n Joshua Sands<\/em> of Nassau, Bahamas, writes: Excellent coverage on a great man, minister, friend and brother in Christ. The Covenant Church has lost a wonderful support in the person of Jerry Mosby and the Covenant Department of Communications has done well to honor him in this way.<\/p>\n Betty Fair<\/em> of Bronx, NY, writes: We also loved Rev. Mosby. God Bless.<\/p>\n Vanessa Robinson<\/em> of Bronx, NY, writes: I attended Fellowship Covenant to hear Rev. Dell Shears (guest speaker), and the love was so overwhelming that I joined Fellowship under the leadership of the Rev. Dr. Jerry Mosby. He was a great leader, teacher, preacher, singer, disciplinary, loving husband and father. My condolences to the Mosby and Fellowship family. You were blessed by having Rev. Mosby in your midst. Peace and blessings to you all.<\/p>\n Judith Dennis<\/em> of Bronx, NY, writes: I always knew that pastor Mosby was a dynamic person from the first day that I met him. After every holiday service I would ask him what he was going to do next. He would always tell me to wait and see. Rest in peace pastor Mosby.<\/p>\n Justine Williams<\/em> of Middletown, NY, writes: My pastor was a wonderful man of God. The joy we had with him will be missed. My pastor was loved. He was there when you needed him. My pastor was a caring and understanding pastor. To the family and to the Fellowship Covenant family I say stay strong, because we know God is good all the time. We love you pastor, but God loves you best. You always said that when you get to heaven all you want to see is Jesus. Have a grand time with the Lord!<\/p>\n Mossai Sanguma<\/em> of Gemena, Democratic Republic of Congo, writes: Brothers and Sisters of Fellowship Covenant Church of Bronx, New York: We are sorry to hear of the loss of our dear brother Rev. Jerry Mosby, who has committed to serve the Lord for so long in New York, but also committed most of his time to host so many visitors from the CEUM (Covenant Church of Congo) of the Democratic Republic of Congo. This demonstrated Mosby’s heart for Africa, but particularly for us in the Covenant Church of Congo. Recently, he was able to host Rev. Kikwiti Corine, who visited his Fellowship Covenant Church after the Triennial XII. We are really touched by Mosby’s legacy and want to express our spiritual participation in all that will be going on in Bronx. Though we are far away from the other part of the Atlantic Ocean, in Christ we are one. The Congo Covenant Church will not forget the wonderful deeds Rev. Mosby has done for us in Congo. He also helped me a lot – he encouraged me to pursue my doctoral studies in the USA. I am really thankful – Rev. Mosby has a special place in my heart. Our prayer for the Fellowship Covenant Church is that they continue with the good work and ministries as he (Mosby) was doing there when he was alive. Mossai Sanguma is president of the Covenant Church in Congo.<\/em><\/p>\n Teens Share \u2018Pink Wisdom\u2019 Dedication of Nan Zhang Church Phyllis and Melvin Johnson<\/em> of Ft. Worth, TX, write: This brought back memories of the days when my parents, Leonard and Alice Larson, would tell us of their good times and some bad times on the mission field in the 1920s. My dad wrote up much of this in his autobiography for our large family before he died. We have prayed that their efforts at spreading the gospel there would continue to bear fruit. And so it has with a new church in that area. \nAlan Paxton<\/em> of Holladay, UT, writes: Chaplain Fisher, although wrestling with the thought of spreading Islam, is also leading by Christian example. Maybe, just maybe, a seed will be sewn in a very dark mind.<\/p>\n
\nJose Mangual<\/em> of Bronx, NY, writes: I love the story a lot. I looked up to that man a lot as a father figure. He will be missed and will always be in my heart and prayers for the rest of my life. I love you pastor. (Pastor used to call me the \u201cmangual boy\u201d \u2026 ha ha ha)<\/p>\n
\nMarilyn Grenat<\/em> of Lafayette, IN, writes: Sometimes great things develop from small beginnings. This is refreshing to hear about a concerned adult who is interested in what is happening in young girls’ lives. She cares – who knows, maybe this will grow into a large organization called PINK WISDOM. God bless you, Cortnie Bain, for caring – even for one, let alone five girls. \nLois Guertin<\/em> of Cranston, RI, writes: What a thrill to see the way the Lord is using pastor Matt and Immy! We were sad to see them leave Rhode Island.<\/p>\n
\nBetsy McConnell <\/em>of Lititz, PA, writes: I love this idea. I am an avid fan of paint by number and I am currently seeking a paint by number of Jesus to do for myself. That’s how I came upon your article – very inspiring. I’m thinking we should consider something different for our next Reformation Sunday celebration. Yours was a perfect plan for helping the congregation understand how working together turns out.<\/p>\n
\nRandall Wilkens<\/em> of Mount Vernon, WA, writes: I am so glad to hear Covenant Congregational Church didn’t have to choose between their historic organ and hiring a youth pastor. Giving up either would have been a tragedy. As an organist, it blesses me to hear of a church that recognizes the future of the organ in Christian worship. And since current younger generations often seem to appreciate historical connections more than many of their parents, it’s likely that these very youth the church has invested in will grow up to appreciate the organ also.<\/p>\n
