RED WING, MN (November 19, 2007) \u2013 A funeral service will be held Tuesday (tomorrow) for retired Evangelical Covenant Church pastor Eldor E. Langager, 86, who died last Thursday.<\/p>\n
The service will begin at 10:30 a.m. at First Covenant Church in Red Wing. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the church.<\/p>\n
Langager was born December 12, 1920, in Ray, North Dakota. He married Nettie (Hrichena) on June 8, 1947. He served three years with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, including more than two years in Europe.<\/p>\n
After studies at North Park Theological Seminary, Langager was ordained in 1955. He served Mission Covenant Church in Dale, Minnesota; Evangelical Covenant Church in Ceresco, Nebraska; Mission Covenant Church in Thief River Falls, Minnesota; West Bay Covenant Church in Traverse City, Michigan; Evangelical Covenant Church in Braham, Minnesota; Evangelical Covenant Church in Owatonna, Minnesota; Zion Covenant Church in Ellsworth, Wisconsin; Emmanuel Covenant Church in Eau Claire, Wisconsin; and Calvary Covenant Church in Stockholm, Wisconsin.<\/p>\n
In addition to his wife, survivors include one daughter, Margaret Anderson of Bay City, Wisconsin; and two sons, Stephen Langager of Waseca, Minnesota, and Nathan Langager, of Escanaba, Michigan. Nathan is a Covenant pastor serving United Evangelical Covenant Church in Gladstone, Michigan.<\/p>\n
