CHICAGO, IL (October 12, 2007) \u2013 The accomplished 30-piece Torsby Brass Band from Torsby, Sweden, is performing at Evangelical Covenant Churches in Lindsborg, Kansas, and Chicago this month as part of its tour through the United States.<\/p>\n
The next performance will be during the 10:55 a.m. worship service at the Lindsborg Covenant Church on Sunday. The group is performing several other concerts this weekend as part of the community\u2019s Hyllningsfest. For more information call 785-227-2447.<\/p>\n
The band will present a concert at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday at Ravenswood Covenant Church in Chicago. Admission is free, and a free-will offering will be taken. For more information, call 773-784-7091<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, the group performed at the Princeton Covenant Church in Princeton, Illinois, and First Covenant Church in Moline, Illinois.<\/p>\n
The band won first place in both the 2005 and 2006 Swedish Brass Band Festival. It also was Sweden\u2019s representative in the World Music Contest in Kerkrade, Holland.<\/p>\n
The band performs a wide variety of music, including, folk, classical, marches, and sacred works.\u00a0 Soloist Carita Hook is singing with the group. Curth Sandstrom, formerly a theology student at the North Park Theological Seminary, is tour leader and band pastor.<\/p>\n
