NPU ended its season with a 1-9 overall record, 0-7 in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) play. North Central ended its season 7-3, 4-3 in CCIW play.
Haehn was 17 for 42 passing and netted 222 yards through the air in his team’s final game of 2004. His 173 completions and 405 attempts both broke school marks (171 completions and 380 attempts) previously held by Mike Coglianese in 1983. His 2,400 yards passing shattered the 2,028 yards compiled by John Love in 1990. Haehn also threw for 18 touchdowns this fall, one shy of the school record set by Bruce Swanson in 1968. He finished 32nd in total offense among NCAA Division III quarterbacks.
Harris finished with five catches for 83 yards and his 10th touchdown grab of the season, the lone touchdown for the Vikings on Saturday. He ended the year with 76 catches, breaking the previous mark of 72 by Paul Zaeske in 1968. He was tied for fourth among Division III receivers in receptions and eighth in receptions per game. His catches totaled 1,099 yards this fall, ranking him fifth in yards per game nationally.
For his career, Harris has caught 165 passes for a school-record 2,512 yards. The former school record for reception yardage was 2,426 yards by Scott Love from 1982-85.
Defensively, Tim Rotenberry finished the season with 121 tackles (including 83 solos) and ranked 20th in tackles per game in Division III statistics.
In other North Park sports action last Saturday, Becky Gritter placed 103rd and Kari Thompson was 109th at the Midwest Regional women’s cross country meet hosted by Augustana College. The Vikings placed 25th of 37 teams as 255 runners competed.
