CHICAGO, IL (December 6, 2001) – Preparations are being made for a Sankofa Journey to the Deep South February 8-11.
However, an adequate number of reservations are required for the trip to be finalized, according to Jim Lundeen in the Office of Compassion and Justice at Covenant Ministries of Benevolence.
A minimum of 25 commitments are needed for the trip to be feasible, Lundeen says. Although about 30 people expressed interest in this particular trip, more firm commitments are needed to meet the minimum, according to Lundeen. The deadline for reservations is December 15.
Other trips are being planned for 2002 as well, according to Lundeen. “If we don’t have the numbers (for the February trip), we’ll try to steer those who have already made reservations to other 2002 trips,” he said.
