Memorial Service Planned for Marden Wickman

GOLDEN VALLEY, MN (May 30, 2006) – A memorial service for retired Covenant pastor Marden Wickman will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Covenant Church in Minneapolis, where he was a member. Wickman died Friday, at the age of ninety-one.

Pastor Wickman was born September 29, 1914, in Minneapolis. He attended St. Cloud State College and Northwestern Bible College, and was a licensed minister for nine years before being ordained in 1950.

Wickman served five Covenant churches: Lewis Lake Covenant Church in Ogilvie, Minnesota; Salem Mission Covenant Church in Pennock, Minnesota; Elim Covenant Church in St. Paul, Minnesota; Powell Valley Mission Covenant in Gresham, Oregon; and the Evangelical Covenant Church in Thief River Falls. He retired in 1979.

He was married June 11, 1937, to Ruth Lundgren. She died in 1983. He later married Gladys Fryhling on August 5, 1990.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys, sons David and Dan Wickman; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and sister Marian Linge.
