KNOXVILLE, TN (July 24, 2006) – Following are the lyrics to the original composition Love Song by Julia Peterson, which she performed as part of her bid to eventually win the Battle of the Bands competition during CHIC 2006 last week on the University of Tennessee campus.

Love Song
By Julia Peterson

(V-1)
You flew by me, a bright big star,
We went to the top of the mountain,
Dirt flew far, like the color of your hair
And night came ‘cause we went there.

(V-2)
Darkness fed by our every burden,
But still flowers bloom as we tread this garden,
We’ll never find peace in our hearts ‘til we rest
In the calling, cooing birds’ final nest.

(Chorus)
I am a woman, I am a girl,
But I won’t fall into the trappings of this world,
I am smart, I have beauty,
But I ate that apple, and now it is eating at me.

(V-3)
Resist your song, your eyes, your laugh,
Save it for the day when I know it will last,
Look at the sun and how it’s blares waste away,
Look in my eyes, and tell me to wait.

(Bridge)
And I’ll struggle,
Yeah I’ll struggle,
and I’ll struggle and sweat,
but I’m gonna win.
