Individuals can donate 25 cents of someone else’s money each day by going to the CHIC 2006 website and “Click for CHIC.” An anonymous donor has agreed to fund each click. To visit the website and trigger a donation, please see Click for CHIC.
“We are so thankful for all the people who have clicked for CHIC,” says Kjersten Jennings, CHIC administrative assistant. “Now that we’re just weeks away from the big event, we would love to see that amount really go up.” She noted that clicking the site once a day takes less than 10 seconds.
CHIC is working with Covenant World Relief to meet needs in Bentiu, a small village in central Sudan. The CHIC-generated donations will help pay for a new school, student supplies, teacher salaries, a food program, and a clinic to address the medical needs of the community. Over the years, CHIC participants have donated several hundred thousand dollars through special offerings received at the events.
Space is still available for the Feed My Starving Children excursion. Participants will pack meals for the children in Bentiu. Registration can be completed online at Excursion Registration.
“It will be an exciting time working with kids from across the country so they can help others around the world,” Jennings says. “The food they pack will be distributed in the same school built with the money that is donated.”
“We’re excited to be working with Feed My Starving Children,” says Jennings. “They do an incredible job of feeding people who suffer the most from malnutrition and hunger.”
