CHICAGO, IL (August 11, 2006) – North Park University alumna and trustee Donna Erickson introduced the nation to what may be a child’s favorite holiday next to Christmas: National S’mores Day on August 10.
Erickson, who graduated in 1971, appeared last Thursday on nationally televised Fox News on the morning show Fox & Friends and on the noon program DaySide. Erickson, a noted family lifestyles expert, has been working with the Hershey chocolate company to co-create recipes and activities aimed at helping families enjoy the outdoors and nature together.

Her books include the award-winning Prime Time Together with Kids, More Prime Time Activities with Kids and Fabulous Funstuff for Families. She is also the host and executive producer of Donna’s Day, which aired regionally on PBS and the Hallmark Channel.
She has won Gold Parents Choice Awards for her books and for her television series. Donna’s Day was designated by the Associated Press as one of the top 10 televisions shows in the United States for 1999.
