BELLEVUE, WA (August 7, 2006) – Alan Folmar, pastor of visitation at Newport Covenant Church, is the recipient of the Puget Sound Christian College 2006 Distinguished Alum Award.
Folmar graduated from Puget Sound in 1998 with a degree in Christian Ministry. Since his retirement from the Boeing Company in 2000, he has served as a chaplain for a number of governmental agencies, including the City of Renton police and fire departments, King County Fire District 20, and the City of Bellevue and the Bellevue Fire Department.

Folmar has received many other honors, including Boeing’s William Allen regional award for outstanding volunteer service to the community, the Daily Points of Light Foundation Award, and an outstanding fire chaplain service award.
