CHIC by the Numbers: Lots of Stuff
Bonnie Siems of Elgin, IL, writes: Great statistics to help put this huge undertaking into perspective. Would like to know about the CHIC Praise Band. Their names, instruments, and a little biographical information. Thanks.
Marti Burger of Chicago, IL, writes: Stan, thank you for the wonderful article on the web and in the Companion. Thank you for sharing this with so many!
Memorial Service Saturday for Eugene Lundberg
Ralph Youngman of Wausa, NE, writes: Eugene is best remembered by me and perhaps others of my era for his singing of “Barnatro,” a beautiful Swedish ballad of love for a mother and her love for her child, relating it all to God’s love for his children.
Readers Vote Church, Pastor as Best in County
David Wenell of Manson, IA, writes: I congratulate Central Community Covenant and Pastor Ed and affirm the ministry they are doing in Asheboro. Yet, I find it disturbing that a newspaper is awarding readers’ choice awards for favorite church and pastor. Have we come down to a popularity contest in Christianity as well, placing one church above another? May it be that we are only found the favorite because love is seen in our churches.
Midwinter Participants: Lock in Lower Airfares
Linda Forbes of Chicago, IL, writes: Will there be a discounted rate at the hotel? If so, how much? I need to know so I can plan my 2007 budget. Thanks.
Kyle Small of Chanhassen, MN, writes: It would be helpful to know when Midwinter starts . . . to arrange flight times. I am guessing that it begins Monday evening and ends Friday morning following the speaker. I like the new website.
(Editor’s note: A brochure containing all of the necessary detail is scheduled for mailing to local churches the end of September.)
Shooting Victim Improving Following Surgery
Linda and John Howell of Longmeadow, MA, write: We are so thankful to God for the continual improvement of David. We send our prayers and love to all the family.
Son of Covenant Pastor in Intensive Care after Shooting

Artist: Painting’s Characters Have Stories to Tell
Mark Bojanowski of Fowlerville, MI, writes: I was happy to find Miss Muriel Linton here on the net and reading about her wonderful accomplishments throughout the years. I was an early art student of hers back in the mid 1970’s when I was just a teenager, and I lost touch with her many years ago. She was a great inspiration for me and taught me a lot about oil painting. I would like to do more paintings and my wife is encouraging me to do so, but the last 30 years I have been busy doing other things. But, I always said I wanted to contact Muriel to help me to get back to painting. It’s nice to see Muriel still doing what she loves to do.
