ROCKFORD, IL (June 15, 2009) – Services are pending for retired Evangelical Covenant Church missionary Rachel (Carlson) Wood, 75, who died Sunday.
Wood was born April 29, 1934, in Moose Lake, Minnesota, and grew up attending Moose Lake Covenant Church. She graduated from North Park College in 1954 and the University of Minnesota, where she earned a Bachelor of Education degree in 1958.

She married David Wood on June 18, 1958, in Moose Lake. The couple served in the Congo from 1959 to 1994.
