North Pacific Conference Welcomes Three New Churches

CLACKAMAS, OR (April 30, 2009) – Delegates to the North Pacific Conference Annual Meeting held Friday-Saturday recommended three new churches for membership into the denomination and honored their former superintendent.

Meeting at Eastridge Covenant Church, the delegates celebrated the new congregations as they emphasized the weekend’s theme of “Stronger Together.” The three churches are Common Ground Covenant Church in Meridian, Idaho; Dundee Covenant Church in Dundee, Oregon; and Alive Covenant Church in Poulsbo, Washington

Delegates approved a revised 2009 budget of $1,034,712 for 2009 and a 2010 budget of $1,037,126.

During the Friday night worship, the conference named Glenn Palmberg “superintendent emeritus” and his wife, Sharon, “first lady emeritus.” Palmberg was superintendent of the conference before serving as the denomination’s president. Covenant Executive Vice-President Donn Engebretson spoke at the service.

Attendees at the Friday night worship service contributed $2,100 to the conference’s work in Scammon Bay and pastoral care fund.
