He was born April 16, 1919, in Lowery, Minnesota, and married D. Lorraine Larson on June 16, 1945. She preceded him in death.
Johnson graduated North Park Theological Seminary in 1946. He earned a bachelor’s degree in education in 1952, and a master’s degree in history from Western Michigan University in 1968.
Johnson served the Cannon Falls Covenant Church in Cannon Falls, Minnesota; Moose Lake Covenant Church in Moose Lake, Minnesota; Elim Covenant Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Richland Covenant Church in Richland, Michigan. He also taught at Gull Lake High School in Richland for 24 years.
Survivors include three daughters: Shirley Scholten, Linda Johnson, and Sherry Gray.
