Seeking Candidates for PCP Executive Director

Dickson Mwati of Nairobi, Kenya, writes: The Evangelical Covenant Church of Kenya feels sadly touched upon the resignation of Jim ‘ESENGO’ Sundholm from the Paul Carlson Partnership. Our Kenyan message to Jim is that though the body may be sick, God’s grace is and will remain sufficient unto him. Our Father in heaven will richly reward you for having worked tirelessly in his vineyard.

Lois Carlson Bridges of Spring Valley, CA, writes: My heart is sad to hear that Jim Sundholm is having to resign as executive director of the Paul Carlson Partnership. He is an amazing man. I had the privilege of visiting Congo with a group including Jim. He adapts so well to people and the Congolese loved him. No wonder they call him Esengo, meaning Joy! Merci mingi, Jim. Take good care of yourself.

Robert and Yvonne Huse
of Strathmore, AB, write: We have followed Jim’s ministry since he was at Community Covenant Church in Minneapolis. Thanks, Jim, for your passion and compassion for people all over the world. We pray that your health will improve so you can enjoy many years of retirement.

Marilyn Moore of Peabody, MA, writes: We are so sorry to hear that Jim Sundholm has health problems that will prohibit his future travel to the Democratic Republic of Congo to supervise the Paul Carlson Partnership. We are glad however that he remains with Covenant World Relief. His love and diligence in his duties around the world have given so many folks both literal and spiritual healing. We wish him improved health and continued service to our Lord. God Bless you, Jim. You have become a good friend and encourager to us over the last few years.

Karen Walker of Turlock, CA, writes: God is truly blessing this ministry and the hard work of Keith Hamilton and so many others. I know that “Aunt Louise” Matson would be so pleased and proud to see her beloved people of Alaska being given this wonderful opportunity for further education. Great job!

Sam Wiens of Murphys, CA, writes: Praise the Lord! This is great news. Congratulations!

Online Petition Seeks End to Violence Against Women

Renee Franzen of New Brighton, MN, writes: I want to express my thanks to our leaders: President Palmberg, Ruth Hill, and Aleese Moore-Orbih. Their leadership in caring for both biblical integrity and care for the oppressed lends our denomination a deeply trustworthy model of salt and light.

Galesburg (IL) Celebrates 135 Years

Annette Carroll of Placentia, CA, writes: This story thrills my heart. I am the great-granddaughter of Truls and Cherstie (Chasta) Swanson, who organized this church in 1868. I know I am a few years late, but I celebrate their anniversary with them. Praise God, they are still sharing the Gospel of Christ!

Visitation Hours on Tuesday for Pastor Peter Talia

John Eter of Beirut, Lebanon, writes: Reverend Peter Talia was my English teacher back in 1966, and he always told us then that his ambition is to go to the USA and continue his studies. He loved the Lord so dearly and I just heard that he passed away. He was a very close friend of my dad, who also was a dedicated Presbyterian minister, who always encouraged Peter to do the same. We have very lovely memories of Peter because he lived with us for at least three years. I hear he has authored books, and we would love to have them for our church library.
