CHICAGO, IL (February 29, 2008) – Hardly a week goes by that we do not receive a few comments from readers on stories published as part of the Covenant online news report.
We will share from time to time some of those responses generated through the “comments” link attached to each published story. This kind of feedback is very helpful to our Covenant News Service staff as we seek to identify and publish stories of great interest to a broad spectrum of online readers of this report.

Seeking Candidates for PCP Executive Director
Dickson Mwati of Nairobi, Kenya, writes: The Evangelical Covenant Church of Kenya feels sadly touched upon the resignation of Jim ‘ESENGO’ Sundholm from the Paul Carlson Partnership. Our Kenyan message to Jim is that though the body may be sick, God’s grace is and will remain sufficient unto him. Our Father in heaven will richly reward you for having worked tirelessly in his vineyard.

I had the privilege of visiting Congo with a group including Jim. He adapts so well to people and the Congolese loved him. No wonder they call him Esengo, meaning Joy! Merci mingi, Jim. Take good care of yourself.

We are glad however that he remains with Covenant World Relief. His love and diligence in his duties around the world have given so many folks both literal and spiritual healing. Record Class Honored During CHET Graduation

Galesburg (IL) Celebrates 135 Years
Annette Carroll of Placentia, CA, writes: This story thrills my heart. I am the great-granddaughter of Truls and Cherstie (Chasta) Swanson, who organized this church in 1868. I know I am a few years late, but I celebrate their anniversary with them. Praise God, they are still sharing the Gospel of Christ!
Visitation Hours on Tuesday for Pastor Peter Talia
John Eter of Beirut, Lebanon, writes: Reverend Peter Talia was my English teacher back in 1966, and he always told us then that his ambition is to go to the USA and continue his studies. He loved the Lord so dearly and I just heard that he passed away. He was a very close friend of my dad, who also was a dedicated Presbyterian minister, who always encouraged Peter to do the same. We have very lovely memories of Peter because he lived with us for at least three years. I hear he has authored books, and we would love to have them for our church library.
