CHICAGO, IL (January 7, 2008) – Hardly a week goes by that we do not receive a few comments from readers on stories published as part of the Covenant online news report.
We will share from time to time some of those responses generated through the “comments” link attached to each published story. This kind of feedback is very helpful to our Covenant News Service staff as we seek to identify and publish stories of great interest to a broad spectrum of online readers of this report.

Funeral Service Wednesday for Don Peres
Rod and Pam Darsie of Cambridge, MN, write: We are sad to hear of Don Peres’ death. He will always be remembered by us as a great preacher of God’s word. It was our hope to some day be one of his parishioners.

Brenda Burruss Kennedy of Duluth, MN, writes: Pastor Don was no ordinary pastor. I had no idea what an impact he would make on my life when I first met him. He and Patty were so devoted to each other and the Lord. He always had time for me when I would call with questions or to ask for prayer. He will truly be missed here on this earth. I will be seeing him, of that I am sure, and I know that he will be singing and praising. And for those who knew pastor Don, they know that too.
Unique Bicycle Ministry Tackling Poverty in Zambia
Mark Washington of Chicago, IL, writes: Thanks for this story. This is one of many ways God is using business to advance his Kingdom around the world, especially in places that won’t accept traditional missionaries. Intervarsity hosted a major Business as Mission Conference last year with free audios available. I know the Evangelical Covenant Church has been doing “business as mission” for years – in Thailand, at Jesus People USA (JPUSA) and others. It’s exciting to see.
Greg West of San Diego, CA, writes: Vaughn and Dustin are an inspiration to all of us as they use their gifts, skills and education to restore and build God’s kingdom on earth. Many people have written off this generation as being self-absorbed and lazy. These two are certainly an exception to that assessment. May God raise up many more disciples like these young men whose passion it is to make a difference in the world!
One Family, 113 Years of Consecutive Pulpit Ministry
