North Park Seeking Two Key Faculty Positions

CHICAGO, IL (November 25, 2009) – North Park University is seeking candidates for two key faculty positions in areas of business and music, among others.

The School of Business and Nonprofit Management is seeking a professor in accounting and/or finance to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels. A master’s degree in accounting or finance is required – preference will be given candidates with an earned doctorate. An interest in and the ability to teach nonprofit accounting or finance will be considered a plus. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated excellence in teaching and a commitment to active involvement in professional associations and service to the university community.

The School of Music is seeking a full-time director of choral music with a terminal degree with emphasis in choral conducting, the ability to teach choral music education courses, evidence of professional level choral conducting and pedagogy, and strong competency in core choral genres and repertoire. The appointment will begin in August 2010.

This individual will direct the University Choir, teach elementary and secondary general and choral music education courses, supervise choral music education students during their semester of student teaching and coordinate and tour with the choir on domestic and foreign tours, among other duties.
