CHICAGO, IL (November 12, 2009) – Women Ministries of the Central Conference (WMCC) delivered 16 “Dressers for Dignity” to a shelter serving women and children.

DressersThe dressers were donated to Hannah House, which is part of Cornerstone Community Outreach (CCO), a ministry of Jesus People USA Covenant Church.

“Dressers for people who live in a shelter with limited privacy are a very big blessing,” CCO Executive Director Sandy Ramsey wrote in a letter thanking the women for the donation. “They represent more than you think. If a family’s whole life is out of control due to homelessness, a dresser is something that helps a mother keep her children’s clothing in order. At least some little part of life is in order – a very basic, functional part.”

Ramsey added that the dressers “were badly needed.” The steel dressers are made especially for high-use areas such as shelters and can be locked.
