CHICAGO, IL (October 13, 2009) – The email distribution system serving offices of the Evangelical Covenant Church is experiencing significant delays, resulting in incoming and outgoing emails being delayed up to several hours, the Information Technology Department reports.
The problem, which began around 2 a.m. today, involves the company that provides spam-filtering services for Covenant email. A number of other customer organizations also have been adversely affected by the slowdown.

Although the company states it is working aggressively to correct the problem, there is no estimated time for restoration of uninterrupted service.
