In the top picture, Curt Peterson pauses with some of the children he met along the way. Visitors always generate a lot of interest in the communities they visit, with several curious onlookers crowding a bridge trestle to get a better look. Byron Miller, executive director of the Paul Carlson Partnership, pauses for a photo opportunity with (from left) Kaya, Texa, and Catholic priest Father Wafili who was the inspiration for securing a boat to transport locally grown produce from the villages to more distant and profitable markets. |
