The projects scheduled for next summer will be in three locations:
• June 21-29: Monterrey, Mexico
• July 5-13: Rio Grande Valley, Texas
• August 1-10: Tome, Chile
The Monterrey trip will accommodate a maximum of 120 individuals who will stay in a local church and homes. Participants will minister in Covenant and non-Covenant churches, a community outreach ministry, and the Covenant Foundation. Cost, including airfare, will be around $1,000 per person.
Up to 120 people also will be able to participate in the Rio Grande Valley project. Participants will either camp in Reynosa, Mexico, or stay in churches in Texas. Trip members will help with construction in Mexico, as well as children’s ministry and outreach events. Cost is estimated at $900 per person, including airfare.
Sixty openings are available for the trip to Chile, where people will stay in churches. Participants will minister in three Covenant churches and at a camp doing construction, school ministry, youth ministry and teaching English classes.
Dale Lusk, executive director of Merge, says the trips will help individuals engage the broader denomination, providing them the opportunity “to see beyond their own neighborhood church.”
Further details are being finalized. For more information, email Dale Lusk or visit the Merge website.
