CHICAGO, IL (October 9, 2009) – Covenanter Jordan Tippens already is making an impact as a freshman member of the North Park University men’s soccer team. The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) named Tippens its Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Tippens played an instrumental role during the Vikings’ 1-1 tie against Dominican on October 2. Tippens helped hold the Stars to just one goal, and he scored a goal of his own in the 60th minute, his first of the season. Dominican came into the contest ranked fourth in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Central Region rankings.

Tippens’ parents, Dennis and Pat Tippens, are longtime members of McMinnville Covenant Church in McMinnville, Oregon. His sister, Miranda, also attends the university.
