“We believe the new resources area is more user friendly, making all kinds of resources easier to locate,” notes Don Meyer, executive minister of the Department of Communication that administers the denominational website.
The new configuration reflects months of work, lead by Internet Services manager Heidi Griepp and Team Glue – a task group that includes representatives from most of the Covenant ministry areas.
“We currently are in a user testing phase,” says Griepp, who is urging Covenanters to engage with the new resources tool and provide feedback through a brief survey accessed through the resources home page. To access the resources area, visit the Covenant website home page and select the “Covenant Resources” link in the menu at the left.
The new site offers five basic ways to locate resources:
• Search for a specific title, the kind of item (brochure, DVD) or the subject matter related to the desired item
• Search for material by individual departments or ministries
• Search two special features – recently changed or most popular resources
• Select from a list of keywords, choosing one or more most closely related to the desired resource
• Call a toll-free number to speak to a resources specialist
During the two-week test phase, the older version will remain available and adjustments will be made based on user feedback. The older version will be discontinued at the end of the two-week period. To access the new area, visit Covenant Resources.
