CHICAGO, IL (November 6, 2007) – The deadline of November 30 grows closer for submitting names for consideration by the Presidential Nominating Committee as it searches for a candidate to succeed Glenn Palmberg when he retires next year as president of the Evangelical Covenant Church.

Some names have been suggested and a number of comments, questions and observations have been received by the committee, Covenant News Service has learned. When submitting names for consideration, it is strongly recommended that potential candidates have a minister’s profile on file with the Department of the Ordered Ministry – and that the profile has been updated within the past year.

The committee is responsible for nominating a candidate to be voted upon by delegates attending the 2008 Annual Meeting in Green Lake, Wisconsin. Although the Covenant Constitution and Bylaws calls for one official nominee to be recommended, candidates also can be nominated from the floor of that meeting.
