LA CORUNA, SPAIN (October 29, 2007) – “It’s open!”

So begins an update email to Covenant News Service this morning from Nancy Reed, speaking on behalf of Vida Nueva (New Life) Covenant Church, which has been embroiled in a dispute with City of Oleiros officials for several weeks.

Authorities closed the church and police sealed the entrances on October 4 following a complaint that noise from the church during its worship services violated city ordinances, a claim the church disputed using evidence from its own independent sound testing data.

The church building – actually a vacant warehouse being used as a worship center – was opened by authorities last Friday.

“Thank you for your prayers and support,” Reed writes, noting that certain details remain to be worked out with the mayor’s office.
