CRC Seeks Candidates for Legal Affairs Position

CHICAGO, IL (August 23, 2007) – Candidates are being sought for the position of vice president of legal affairs for Covenant Retirement Communities (CRC), which is administered by Covenant Ministries of Benevolence on behalf of the Evangelical Covenant Church.

Covenant Retirement Communities is a faith-based Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) sponsor – fifth largest in the American Association of Home and Services for the Aging (AAHSA) Ziegler Top 100 – and serves residents in 14 locations in eight states.

This position serves as in-house legal counsel, responsible for providing professional legal management and oversight for the organization. This includes compliance with federal and state laws and regulations. The position reports to the president.

Other duties include maintenance of a reference portfolio of attorneys for each campus site, oversight of resident contracts assuring their compliance with applicable laws and regulations, Fair Housing compliance and training, maintenance of a critical date calendar for routine filings, and active involvement in bond financings.

The successful candidate must have a Doctor of Law degree. The position will work out of the Chicago offices, though travel is required. The candidate must have five years of experience in senior services and be a committed and active Christian.
