CHICAGO, IL (November 22, 2006) – A limited number of Congo Christmas cards from 2004 and 2005 are still available, designed by artists from Congo. The 2006 card was designed by Prince Mossebo, a wood carver who created a special piece for ECC President Glenn Palmberg’s 2003 visit to Congo.
These are the unusual figures carved by 22-year-old Prince Mossebo, an artist residing in Bokonzo in northwestern Congo. They depict the heads of both the Congo and the American Covenant churches, Mossai Sanguma and Glenn Palmberg, to commemorate Palmberg’s visit to Congo in 2003. Mossebo also designed this year;s Christmas ornament, which inspired the design for the 2006 Congo Christmas card.
This is the 2005 Congo Christmas card. A limited number of these cards are still available for purchase through the online Covenant Bookstore.
This 2004 edition of the Congo Christmas card is fast becoming a collector’s item, with only a few cards remaining. The cards are designed especially for the Paul Carlson Partnership, with net proceeds going to support the partnership’s work in Congo, rebuilding infrastructure and addressing health and educational needs.
