NORTHBROOK, IL (November 3, 2006) – Covenant Village of Northbrook broke ground October 26 for a new 134,093-square-foot, three-story building designed to be the center of activity on the retirement community’s 55-acre campus.
The first floor stretches 40,520 square feet. It will include a health club with a sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi; indoor swimming pool; living room with fireplace; library and media center; classroom; game room; creative arts center; beauty salon and barbershop; general store; multipurpose room; and post office. Administrative, marketing and other offices also will be housed in the new building.

The second and third floors, totaling more than 65,000 square feet, will house 44 one- and two-bedroom residential retirement apartments, each with a living room, dining room, full kitchen and master suite. An underground garage will provide sheltered parking.
Occupancy is projected for 2008.
