CHICAGO, IL (October 4, 2006) – Fans of Scot McKnight’s work can receive two copies of his latest book, The Real Mary, by signing up no later than October 15 to become part of the “Street Team” to help promote the project.

McKnight is the Karl A. Olsson Professor in Religion Studies at North Park University and the author of Embracing Grace, Praying with the Church, and The Jesus Creed.

The Real Mary will be released November 1. Members of the Street Team must agree to post a sample chapter of the book on a blog or website or email the link to at least 10 friends. Also, participants must agree to set up a discussion forum for Sunday, December 3, at their church or other location.

The discussions are intended to coincide with the December 1 major theatrical release of The Nativity Story, written by evangelical Christian Mike Rich (author of Radio, The Rookie, and Finding Forrester). The book is not connected with the film, however.

Individuals interested in participating with the Street Team should email Jennifer Lynch with the following information:
•    Name (and church name if applicable)
•    Mailing address
•    Telephone number
•    Email address
•    Probable discussion venue or forum
•    Address of the website or blog where the sample chapter will be posted

Suggested forum questions will be sent along with the copies of the book. To read a sample chapter of McKnight’s newest book, visit The Real Mary. To read a previously published story about McKnight’s work, see The Jesus Creed.
