Responsibilities for this position, which reports to the SPE director, include evaluating SPE trends, answering the telephone, responding to questions about the SPE program, preparing correspondence and individual/large mailings, organizing and maintaining records, preparing reports, tracking applications, coordinating meeting arrangements, arranging travel plans and occasionally supporting the Department of the Ordered Ministry.
The successful candidate will have the ability to commit at least three years to this project, have an associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, one to two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This individual also will demonstrate a willingness to support the mission of the Evangelical Covenant Church, especially the ministries of the Department of the Ordered Ministry. The candidate should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Access and various other database software, email and Internet systems, or the ability to learn these programs/systems quickly.
This individual must have excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills and the ability to handle a variety of tasks and responsibilities in a professional and prompt manner. The individual must be able to work with limited direction and take initiative and possess good organizational skills. Attention to detail is important as the position requires accuracy and the ability to maintain confidentiality. The person must be tactful and possess good communication skills (written and verbal, English) and be able to communicate effectively with staff and others with whom this position has contact.
