This position plans and manages all functions of the annual meeting and coordinates the mailing of Covenant Yearbook and the Covenant appointment calendar, reporting to the vice president for administration.
Responsibilities include working with the annual meeting chair and the Annual Meeting Planning Committee; developing, prioritizing, and implementing tactical project plans; negotiating contracts and maintaining relationships with preferred vendors; serving as liaison between meeting site facilities and the denomination; and working with financial aspects of planning, including estimated costs, budget preparation, and tracking and reporting of various statistics and data. Work also includes arrangements for meeting space and related exhibits and meetings and the myriad of details associated with promoting and managing a major event.
The successful candidate will reflect a personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, will preferably have a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and at least one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent writing and editing skills are required as are excellent visual design skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Office, and Access software.
This individual must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to handle a variety of tasks and responsibilities in a professional and prompt manner, working with limited direction and taking initiative. The individual must demonstrate attention to detail, maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment, reflecting a courteous attitude and relating well to internal and external customers. This position requires highly developed communication skills (written and verbal in English) and the ability to communicate effectively with staff, vendors and others with whom this position has contact.
