CHICAGO, IL (December 28, 2001) – North Park Theological Seminary and the Department of Christian Formation of the Evangelical Covenant Church are co-sponsoring a free online conference on health ministries January 21 through February 1.
The conference, “The Transforming Power of the Church to Promote Healthy Communities,” will be led by Mary Chase-Ziolek, PhD, RN, director of Health Ministry Programs and assistant professor of Health Ministries at the seminary.
The conference will allow participants to explore how Covenant churches can have an impact on the health of their communities, discussing the implications of the current faith and health movement for the local church.
During week one of the two-week online conference (January 21-27), participants will find the content of the presentation on North Park’s website at www.northpark.edu/sem/academic/mchasez.html. Asynchronous dialogue will occur throughout the conference via an online discussion board responding to questions posed by conference content or the experience and interests of participants.
During week two (January 28-February 1), opportunities for simultaneous online discussion will be scheduled. There will also be descriptions of Covenant health ministries that are impacting the health of communities.
To register for the online conference, go to www.northpark.edu/sem/news.html. Due to limited space, participants must register by January 7.
For more information on the conference, contact Chase-Ziolek at mchase-ziolek@northpark.edu or 773-244-6201. Churches are urged to send information on their health ministries as one means of sharing that information with one another.
