CHICAGO (December, 1999) – CHICAGO – The Department of Christian Education and Discipleship of the Evangelical Covenant Church is seeking applicants to fill the position as administrative assistant to the department.
Qualifications include the following:
- Personal faith in Jesus Christ and support of the Great Commandment and the Great Commission
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Attention to detail – sees tasks through to completion
- Willingness to work as part of a team
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, balance priorities, and work well under pressure
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows environment.
Primary responsibilities include the following:
- Provide administrative assistance to the director of Adult Ministries and the directors of Children, Youth and Family Ministries; maintain staff schedules
- Participate as a member of the office support staff, which includes weekly team meetings and covering the front desk once per week during the receptionist’s lunch break
Specific responsibilities related to Adult Ministries include:
- Prepare and distribute Adult Ministries promotional materials
- Participate in development and final packaging of CELL seminar materials
- Maintain current supplies of CELL materials
- Maintain schedule of staff visits in conferences
- Prepare quarterly consultant update and other communications as needed
- Coordinate semi-annual consultant coordinator meeting logistics
Specific responsibilities related to Children, Youth and Family Ministries include:
- Maintain youth workers database
- Provide support for Youth Workers’ Connection such as preparing and distributing promotional material, preparing booklet for Youth Workers’ Connection, making arrangements for displays, processing follow-up correspondence, mailings
- Prepare and update youth and family resources for publication and distribution
- Assist in preparation of youth and family workshops and presentations
- Coordinate youth and family mailings as needed
Specific responsibilities related to Children, Youth and Family Ministries include:
- Prepare camera -ready copy for children and family ministry brochures and flyers
- Support Children and Family Ministry Connection by preparing promotional material, making arrangements for displays, providing follow-up
- Maintain children and family ministry database
- Prepare and update children and family resources for publication and distribution
- Assist in preparation of children and family workshops and presentations
- Coordinate children and family mailings as needed
