Today we would be celebrating 23 years married and 30 years together. Max loved to share the number of years together more than the number of years married. The reality is that we had 20 years married and 27 years together. 27 amazing years filled with love, laughter, tears, disappointments and accomplishments. I want to always honour our life. I want everyone to know the love Max had, the husband he was, the marriage I was so blessed to have. Max chose me to live life to the fullest with. He was my best friend. He was never the old man, the ball and chain.. he was my everything. We had our own ideas about growing old together, so maybe 46 and 44 were old; we had our own jokes about being 80 and 78 and chasing each other around the house. Life didn\u2019t work out that way, but I am so grateful for everyday we did have together. In sickness and health, for better and for worse; but it was all done together. We experienced it all and even more. Life is not for better OR for worse, it is for better AND for worse. Men, love your wives. Treat them like a queen everyday, it doesn\u2019t have to be a special day to do something special, to say something special. Ladies, love your husbands. Love them unconditionally. Show your love daily. Husbands and wives…. It won\u2019t matter five years from now who takes out the garbage or if they left their socks on the floor, or who cooks and who can\u2019t cook… Say I love you more often. Hold hands, hug each other tightly. Fall deeper in love every day. Grow in your faith together. Pray together. Never take for granted what you have today. Some of you don\u2019t even know how special your relationship is. Never put off doing something for another day. That day may never arrive. I will forever miss Max but I have the privilege to continue living life and honouring our love. My identity is so tied to Max that sometimes I don\u2019t know where Max and Colleen ends and Colleen begins. Friends, I am not the same person I was when I left Canada. Life has changed me, grief has changed me, God has continued to transform me and the Holy Spirit has given my heart a peace that is so filled with love that it\u2019s hard to explain. I know that after all I have been through, whatever is next – better and worse – I will go through it not alone, not out of obligation but rather, out of love and a desire. A desire to love and honor the life I lived with Max, the life I live because of Max and the life I now live without him.<\/p>\n
Hoy estar\u00edamos celebrando 23 a\u00f1os de casados y 30 a\u00f1os juntos. A Max le encantaba compartir la cantidad de a\u00f1os juntos m\u00e1s que la cantidad de a\u00f1os de casados. La realidad es que ten\u00edamos 20 a\u00f1os de casados y 27 a\u00f1os juntos. 27 a\u00f1os incre\u00edbles llenos de amor, risas, l\u00e1grimas, decepciones y logros. Quiero honrar siempre nuestra vida. Quiero que todos sepan el amor que Max ten\u00eda, el esposo que era, el matrimonio que ten\u00eda la bendici\u00f3n de tener. Max me eligi\u00f3 para vivir la vida al m\u00e1ximo. \u00c9l era mi mejor amigo. Nunca fue el viejo, la bola y la cadena … fue mi todo. Ten\u00edamos nuestras propias ideas sobre envejecer juntos, as\u00ed que capaz 46 y 44 eran viejos; Ten\u00edamos nuestras propias bromas sobre tener 80 y 78 a\u00f1os y nos perseguirnos por la casa. La vida no funcion\u00f3 de esa manera, pero estoy muy agradecida por todos los d\u00edas que tuvimos juntos. En enfermedad y salud, para mejor y para peor; Pero todo fue hecho juntos. Lo experimentamos todo y a\u00fan m\u00e1s. La vida no es para mejor O<\/strong> para peor, es para mejor Y<\/strong> para peor. Hombres, amen a sus esposas. Tr\u00e1tenlas como una reina todos los d\u00edas, no tiene que ser un d\u00eda especial para hacer algo especial, para decir algo especial. Mujeres, amen a sus maridos. \u00c1menlos incondicionalmente. Muestren su amor a diario. Maridos y esposas … No importa dentro de cinco a\u00f1os qui\u00e9n saque la basura o si dejaron las medias en el piso, o qui\u00e9n cocina y qui\u00e9n no puede cocinar … digan \u201cte amo\u201d con m\u00e1s frecuencia. T\u00f3mense de las manos, abr\u00e1cense fuertemente. Enam\u00f3rense cada d\u00eda m\u00e1s profundamente. Crezcan en su fe juntos. Oren juntos Nunca den por sentado lo que tienen hoy. Algunos de ustedes ni siquiera saben cu\u00e1n especial es su relaci\u00f3n. Nunca pospongas hacer algo para otro d\u00eda. Ese d\u00eda tal vez nunca llegue. Siempre extra\u00f1ar\u00e9 a Max, pero tengo el privilegio de seguir viviendo y honrando nuestro amor. Mi identidad est\u00e1 tan ligada a Max que a veces no s\u00e9 d\u00f3nde terminan Max y Colleen y d\u00f3nde comienza Colleen. Amigos, no soy la misma persona que era cuando sal\u00ed de Canad\u00e1. La vida me ha cambiado, el dolor me ha cambiado, Dios ha seguido transform\u00e1ndome y el Esp\u00edritu Santo le ha dado a mi coraz\u00f3n una paz tan llena de amor que es dif\u00edcil de explicar. S\u00e9 que despu\u00e9s de todo lo que he pasado, pase lo que pase, mejor y peor, lo pasar\u00e9 no solo sola, no por obligaci\u00f3n, sino por amor y un deseo. Un deseo de amar y honrar la vida que viv\u00ed con Max, la vida que vivo gracias a Max y la vida que ahora vivo sin \u00e9l.<\/p>\n
