I had heard that termites had been found in some of the beams of the church building… but am still not clear on this talk of moving out. Has the building been declared unsafe? Is the termite issue the primary reason for moving out? Not that I need to know all the answers to these questions but I do want to ask whether all of this has been discussed with the Sekinos if Grant and Miho are serious about moving out, and that there is mutual agreement between them and the church that moving out is the right thing to do. I know the church spent a significant amount of money trying to make the apt. livable so I would imagine the notion of moving out would be a disappointment to them since one of their biggest desires was to have someone living in the building. I also want to check in on the long range view. As of our last CMCJ meeting it seemed like there was at least a chance that Grant and Miho would be moving either to somewhere further in Japan or perhaps even back to the U.S. for a while. So I guess I’m wondering whether this talk of moving out of the church and paying money to get into another apt. means those other options have been ruled out? I only ask because it seems like if there is still any realistic chance that they are going to want to move elsewhere, the idea of doing all the work to get into a new apt. seems questionable… Finally, Grant and Miho I apologize for referring to you in the third person when you are on the recipient list… please do not interpret that to mean that I am in any way trying to exclude you from the discussion.
