Reflections on Life Together"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This last week we were at the annual celebration of our denominational conference.\u00a0 It was a wonderful time of connecting with friends, praying together, giving and receiving gifts, and listening to teaching and dreams.\u00a0 On Friday night the speaker talked about the passage in Exodus 17 where Moses holds off the Amalekites by holding aloft a staff as directed by God.\u00a0 He started off holding it up all by himself and then eventually Aaron and Hur bring him a rock to sit on and then they also held up his arms because he could not do it alone.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/jcstoker\/2018\/04\/27\/holding-up-our-arms-reflections-on-life-together\/moses-and-the-amalekites\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2077\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2077\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/jcstoker\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/76\/2018\/04\/moses-and-the-amalekites.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"375\" height=\"323\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/jcstoker\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/76\/2018\/04\/moses-and-the-amalekites.jpg 375w, http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/jcstoker\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/76\/2018\/04\/moses-and-the-amalekites-150x129.jpg 150w, http:\/\/blogs.covchurch.org\/jcstoker\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/76\/2018\/04\/moses-and-the-amalekites-300x258.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 375px) 100vw, 375px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As I have reflected on this story over the past few days I realize just how true that is in my own life and ministry.\u00a0 So often I start off assuming that what I am doing is\u00a0<em>my project or ministry.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>But then it gets hard or I find I lack the resources.\u00a0 Sometimes I bravely soldier on &#8211;
