years ago I atten<a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/76\/2012\/09\/BBQ-corn.png\"><span style=\"color: #666699\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1093 alignright\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/76\/2012\/09\/BBQ-corn.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"274\" height=\"184\" \/><\/span><\/a>ded my first InterVarsity meeting at University of California at San Diego(UCSD) during Welcome Week.\u00a0 That year (and for the three years following -at least) , InterVarsity hosted barbecues with hamburgers, sweet corn and chips to feed the hungry students since the meal plans did not start until the following week.\u00a0 Not only was it a great service to hungry students, but it was a wonderful way to become a part of this fellowship on campus.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #666699\">Last night, we (Jeff and I) returned to UCSD to attend the first InterVarsity Large Group Meeting of the year.\u00a0 They still serve food -pizza now &#8211; even though the University has decided to feed students during Welcome Week.<\/span><\/h4>\n<div id=\"attachment_1094\" style=\"width: 287px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/76\/2012\/09\/Intervarsity-at-Mandeville.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1094\" class=\" wp-image-1094\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/76\/2012\/09\/Intervarsity-at-Mandeville.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"277\" height=\"208\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1094\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Students still are willing to stand in line for food<\/p><\/div>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #666699\">It was great to meet some of our son Keith&#8217;s friends and to see how the group has grown.\u00a0 Last night, the group met in Mandeville Auditorium (capacity about 800), with about 500 in attendance.\u00a0 Plenty of room for them to bring friends next week<\/span>.<\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/76\/2012\/09\/chasing_daylight_2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1096\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/76\/2012\/09\/chasing_daylight_2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" with loud voices and great energy, I thought back on the influence this group has had over the years.\u00a0 Countless students have found friends (and spouses), grown in their knowledge of God, and\u00a0 learned how to reach out to those around them with God&#8217;s love.\u00a0 Not only did I meet Jeff through InterVarsity at UCSD, but from there came our call to missionary service.\u00a0 I wonder who God is calling from last night&#8217;s gathering and how they will influence their world.\u00a0 Please join me in praying that God will continue to work in the lives of students at UCSD to share His love with those around them both now and in the years to come.<\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-report-this\"><a
