Celebration

This month the “20 de Julio Covenant Church” in Barranquilla celebrated the inauguration of their new church building. People came from all over the city and country to join in the celebration. The church began in 1994 under a tree in the 20 de Julio neighborhood. Through the years the church community was able to find a space to worship together, but because of it’s location it was often flooded after hard rains and this brought with it terrible mosquito problems. Despite the challenges, Pastor Anderson and his wife Damaris, have raised their five girls and have ministered in this community. So it is truly a celebration that after a donation given by the Covenant Church in Norway and many hours of hard physical labor to build the church, they now have a new space to worship and serve together in the community. We saw the work that went into building this space as a team from Roseville Covenant spent a few days working beside them in the sweltering heat. And so we celebrate with this Covenant church the inauguration of their new church building.
